ARIN R. SMITH
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Arin

The reason I’m here, doing this is because I love Ellensburg - I was born and raised here. I moved away for 14 years but my family were all still here. I moved to the west side for a change of scenery, an adventure I suppose, and it was definitely that, one I will never go on again. I missed the sunshine, I missed my family and this small town. When I did finally move back, within the first week, there was a horse running loose, down University Way, past Grocery outlet all the way to Ward Rugh (go figure). And I thought, YUP, I’m home! I love that the idea of “traffic” was a backup due to following someone's horse on the loose. This is part of what makes this old country town so special.
I’ve been back for about seven years now; I rekindled with my high school sweetheart, and we married in 2019. We bought a house right before Covid and share wonderful families.
I am passionate about my home and my family and Ellensburg is that to me. You are all in my home as its yours too and I just want to protect and care for it. I’m a citizen just like the rest of you, I’m not a politician but after seeing and hearing what's been going on in my home, I want to be, I just want to help. I am 42 years old now and looking back, this town is not what it used to be. I want to restore and preserve our country town, help our local businesses and citizens thrive.
Career
My experience in the legal field will aid me in my journey to serve the community. I was a mortgage modification specialist for five years as well as a legal assistant, where attention to detail was of the upmost importance, and money management was crucial. People came to me in desperate situations, losing their homes in foreclosure. Everyone who came to us were either in active foreclosure or very close to it due to the predatory lending and housing crash of 2009. I fought the banks every day and had an impeccable success rate.
For the past five years I worked in child nutrition for the Ellensburg School District. I was a “Lunch Lady” if you will. My job was making sure the students had at least five different fresh vegetables served to them every day. I processed all the vegetables, for all the schools in the valley, fresh every single morning. We didn’t just serve food, we were the break between classes, smiling faces and we tried very hard to serve healthy food that still tasted good.
I am passionate about anything I set forth to do and I always work hard. This town is important to me, and everyone in it, I won't let you down.
